Would you be the ‘miracle’ for these less privileged in our midst?
A large number of us grew up without a lot of means, but we were very very fortunate to have parents, that valued education and made it a point of duty to provide us with the best. The sacrifices they made ignited us to continually strive to become the best version of ourselves and today, we are the better for it. God bless our dear parents.
For some of us, we recall sweet memories of our parent’s taking us shopping in fancy stores like ‘Bata Shoe Shop’ in the early 80’s and also buying us fancy leather ‘Cortina’ shoes. Unfortunately, for so many children today, they have never owned a pair of shoes or school sandals. Sadly, very many of them will never own a pair of fancy shoes.
Each day my work gives me the privilege to meet and interact with some of these children either at school or on the streets. It hurts seeing the state of their school uniforms, dirty flip flops, and tattered school bags. A number of them are on the streets hawking wares during school hours. What is most endearing is that despite their physical outlook, there is a desire to learn.
You and I can do something together to change the narrative for some of these children. I am appealing to my network of friends, donors, kind-hearted individuals and all good people to join me to help “Kit-Up” 40 children in need across Lagos State with a pair of (school uniform, shoes, school bag), as well as books and stationeries.
N6,500 will kit up one child with the listed items above. Small donations are also welcome. No amount is too small.
